Overview: M01 Orientation & Destination Pitch
This station keeps the original M01 sequence while simplifying when learners make choices. Learning pages explain first; speaking pages are where choices become meaningful.
- Concept readiness: complete a simple 10-item, 4-choice MC check (10 points).
- Destination Learning: explore the prepared eco-tourism support cards and complete 5 easy MC items (5 points); no destination selection is required here.
- Script Studio Learning: understand Basic, Intermediate, and Field Performance scripts and the six guide moves, then complete 5 easy MC items (5 points); no script selection is required here.
- Guided Read-Aloud: freely choose any prepared destination and Basic / Intermediate / Field Performance level for practice with chunk highlighting (20 points).
- Commentary Practice: choose the one destination you feel most confident presenting. The script is automatically standardized at Field Performance, shown without highlighting. The destination locks when the first attempt starts (40 points).
- Tourist Q&A: answer for the same locked Commentary destination (20 points).
- Dashboard Reflection: reflect on performance and the next improvement target. Required but unscored.

Formal station submission requires all 7 tasks plus server-verified speaking evidence.
A simple 10-item readiness check. Each correct answer = 1 point. Choose the best answer (A–D).
Learn the prepared eco-tourism destinations before speaking. You do not choose or lock a destination on this page. Later, Guided Read-Aloud lets you freely choose a destination and practice level; Commentary Practice asks you to choose the one destination you feel most confident presenting.
Quick Destination Learning Check · 5 points
Five easy questions confirm that you understand how to read a destination support card. Each correct answer = 1 point; this is about information structure, not memorizing every place.
This page explains how a tour-guide pitch develops from Basic to Intermediate to Field Performance. You do not choose a destination or script level here. Guided Read-Aloud is the place where you choose what you want to practice.
Quick Script Structure Check · 5 points
Five easy questions check that you understand the three script levels and the common guide-move structure. Each correct answer = 1 point.
Guided Read-Aloud Attempts 0/5
Listen to the model with chunk highlighting, then read it aloud while the active chunk moves automatically.
How to practice: listen once with model highlighting, then press Start Speaking with Highlight and read each highlighted chunk aloud. The score is a training indicator. Accuracy is ASR-based recognized-word alignment against the displayed script; Fluency uses recognized words and speaking time. It is not an acoustic phoneme-level pronunciation score.

AI-style Speaking Feedback: Commentary
Standardized transfer task
All learners use the Field Performance level. Destination choice remains flexible so each learner can demonstrate performance using the place they know and feel most confident presenting. Once the first attempt starts, the destination is locked so all Commentary attempts remain directly comparable; the best verified attempt counts.
What the system checks
Fluency, Script Accuracy (ASR-based), eco-tourism vocabulary, and Task Fulfillment. Fluency uses recognized words and speaking time; Script Accuracy uses order-sensitive word alignment against the Field Performance script; Task Fulfillment checks the required destination message. This is rule-based formative feedback, not a replacement for teacher/human research scoring.
Fluency vs Script Accuracy
Fluency is based on recognized word count and speaking time (WPM/continuity indicator). Script Accuracy is scored separately from order-sensitive ASR word alignment against the Field Performance script, including missing, changed, and extra recognized words. It is a recognized-word measure, not phoneme-level pronunciation accuracy.
Tourist Q&A Attempts 0/3
Answer as a friendly tour guide for the same destination used in Commentary Practice. Answer directly, give one useful detail, and use a polite service tone.
